National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) Metro DC
Situation
NARI Metro DC specifically hired MSP to take their organization to the "next level," with more professionally managed meetings and events and strategic leadership to drive organizational growth.
History
NARI Metro DC grew substantially during the housing-driven economic boom, but the decentralized and tactically focused volunteer structure was limiting their growth. MSP took over managing the many different meetings they put on each year (from networking in a member showroom to black-tie galas), offering better contract negotiations, more professionally designed communications, more frequent and consistent meeting promotions and more comprehensive sponsorship management.
Even though the bottom dropped out of the economy and the big sponsorship checks stopped coming, we managed to maintain sponsorship revenue and even increase attendance at many events. We transformed their monthly, tactical Board meetings into quarterly strategic conversations, supported by monthly dashboard reports to Boards and Committees to keep volunteers up to date on key metrics and trends. We also clarified the roles of committees to enable the extended volunteer network to be more effective.
